Zova 1.1
For this one, however, gentlemen, take a step back and make room for the ladies since Zova is exclusively dedicated to women.
Easy to work with
The workout app is pretty straightforward and it gets straight to business, presenting you with hundreds of sessions of various intensities and lengths. They’re all accompanied by custom music to help motivate you go through with the exercises.
Zova is integrated with Health app so you can accurately track and review your workout progress, counting the active calories and steps.
The app provides plenty of exercise options, from yoga to fitness to stretching. From the interface, you can check out not only the profile of the exercise in the video, but also see how long the video lasts and how many calories you’ll burn when completed. There are sessions lasting as little as three minutes and others lasting over 30 minutes.
Search for the perfect workout
Zova further allows you to find some specific workouts to suit your needs. The search feature lets you pick the body area you want to work on (full, lower, upper, or core), the workout type (bodyweight, gym, or equipment) and your own level of ability (beginner, intermediate, or advanced).
In the “My Workouts” area, you’ll find all the workouts you went through, which you can download for offline repeats. There, you won’t just find the most recent workouts, but also those you’ve saved.
Each video comes with a list of contents, telling you what exercise you have to perform within the session and how many times you have to repeat it.
The “Activity” tab lets you see how many days in a row you exercised using the app, how many calories you’ve burned and how much time was spent on the workout.
All in all, Zova is a pretty nice app, even if it is dedicated to women alone, which leaves a good portion of users on the outside. The app comes with a subscription plan, but you can try it out for free for a week and see if you really want to shell out the cash for it. Thankfully, unlike other apps that require subscriptions, Zova won’t make you link your credit card before the trial is over, which means you’ll have nothing to cancel if you don’t want to use the app fully after the week is over.
