Mango 1.0.1

Live a healthier life by keeping track of what you eat and how much you exercise
Keeping in shape or getting in shape can be quite difficult, especially when you have a busy life. Things can be easier, however, if you have a little help keeping an eye on how you eat and how much you exercise.

Mango is an app that helps you monitor your daily calorie intake, as well as how much exercise you’re getting. By the end of the day you’ll know whether you should have cut down on some of the things you ate or exercised more.

Easy as pie

The tool has a pretty simple interface that’s easy to navigate. Until you get to it, however, you have to set up the app by providing some personal information. This includes your name, gender, date of birth, height and weight, or how much physical exercise you normally do. At the end of the line, the app will tell you what your daily calorie requirement is, although you can easily override this at a later time from the profile page.

Thankfully, unlike other similar apps, there’s no account to go with the app. This means that none of your personal data gets saved to a server of the company. The downside of this is that you’ll lose all the information once you uninstall the app, but you at least get to protect your privacy.
The app’s main screen tells you how many calories you should be ingesting every day, how many you’ve had and how many you’ve consumed by exercising.

The multiple tabs in the lower area of the app give you access to your profile, the activity log, the main screen, the food logger and the calendar. When logging in food you can make some adjustments to the quantity you ate, which will, in turn change the energy, carb, protein, fat and fiber values. Foods can be added to the favorites list, which is handy in case you often have the same thing.

What’s cooler is that you can choose when to have that dish, turning the app into a meal planner of sorts.

Log the jog

Logging in your favorite activities is also fun and the range is quite large. For some of them, such as aerobics, there are multiple versions available, such as dance, intense, moderate or light, and so on. Each comes with its own calorie consumption levels and you can even play with that by adjusting the length of the routine.

All in all, this is a nice app that should help you get or stay into shape. You just need to remember to actually log your meals and exercise routine, which the app will help out with by sending out notifications.
