The Guardian 3.2.0
Either way, regardless of the topics that you care most about, you need a reliable news source to get your information. Out of the publications out there, The Guardian is certainly one that fits the bill and its app will make it easier than ever to navigate through all the content you want to read.
Pick what you're interested in
The app provides you plenty of news categories to choose from, such as World, Sport, Football, Culture, Economy, Tech, Environment and so on. The news are displayed in cards, complete with how much time has passed since they were published, and even the number of comments they’ve received. Some, more important articles, are displayed with large photographs, while others will get a smaller icon. News that are a bit older will only get their headlines displayed.
When reading a news article you’ll notice a few extra buttons. The first one will increase and decrease the font of the news story so you can have a nicer time reading it, while the second will help you share it with the world via a series of messaging tools, varying from Twitter and email to basic text message or WhatsApp.
It’s also possible to add the link to the reading list, to take a screenshot, open in Safari or Chrome, copy the URL and so on. Tapping on the bookmark sign will save the news piece so you can read it at a later time.
Go for more
More content can be accessed by tapping a simple button at the bottom of the screen. If you want to save any of the news articles for later reading you can just tap on the headline for a couple of second and it will display a message telling you that it has been saved.
The app’s settings area allows you to make a few adjustments, such as enabling and disabling alerts, picking an edition of The Guardian (UK, US and Australia) and more. For instance, you can toggle the sounds and the condensed layout, or to personalize the widget by selecting a category.
