BuzzFeed 4.2.5

News, life stories, and everything buzzing on social networks today
Take any news app in the App Store and almost all of them will first ask you to either log into your account, choose your favorite topics or areas of interest, connect with your Facebook credentials, and so on and so forth.

BuzzFeed is different. It launches straight to the home page filled with trending news topics and everything that’s buzzing around the world at that particular time. If you want to personalize it, you can do that whenever you decide, not when the app decides. And for that, it’s awesome!

Nothing but news

You have to hand it to BuzzFeed. They’re not trying to capitalize on every single social aspect of news sharing, like most news services do today. These guys are dedicated to delivering your hot news stories first and foremost, then, if you want, you can go about sharing and commenting.

It also doesn’t beg for your five-star rating in the app store, likes on social mediums, and so on. For that, we have high admiration for BuzzFeed.

Simple layout, tons of content

Another thing that BuzzFeed does right is juggle the thousands of titles that hit the wires every day, yet still deliver a compelling experience to everyone. There’s practically no UI to deal with. You just scroll through your stories and, if you really need more options, they start to pop up when you need them.

The left-side panel holds all your preferences in news categories, trends, quizzes, and stuff that’s getting tossed around social networks at that particular time. The non intrusive nature of the app says a lot about the developers and their commitment to deliver a good quality service.

You get one-tap sharing with Email, Messages, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest in every article, and you can share individual images and videos from within the stories that you’re browing

BuzzFeed account, search

As noted above, you don’t need to create an account to enjoy BuzzFeed. But you get extra functionality if you join in, and even more so if you join in with your Facebook credentials.

A handy search function lets you look up any topic on the web. BuzzFeed will instantly bring up dozens of relevant articles on anything you type in that search field. The experience is completely seamless.
