The Huffington Post is a well-established news aggregator and blog from the United States, one that you’ve certainly heard about and probably read a bunch of times already. When you’re on the go, however, you need a platform that works better that what a mobile version of the site has to offer, and that’s via a designated app.

Well, Huffington Post has thought about that and has come up with a solution. The iOS version of the app is pretty straightforward, which makes it easy to handle by all users, young and old, experienced or not.

As you launch the app you’ll notice the leading news at the top of the page, while a grid of news follows from there on out, allowing you to check out more and more news articles from all categories of the site.

Talking of which, you can just tap the “H” at the top of the page and access to more features, including additional news categories. You can, for instance, read more lifestyle articles, or maybe you’ll like tech more, or financial news. Either way, the Huffington Post has you covered.

From the same menu you can make an additional adjustment regarding the font size. It’s also possible to access the “My News” area, where you’ll get access to the recently viewed and to the articles you’ve bookmarked.

The Settings area lets you make a few adjustments, but the options are frankly quite limited – enable iCloud, a recently viewed list and gives you the chance to clear the history.

Adjust the notifications

It’s also possible to adjust the notifications you’re getting by selecting between news, TV & Entertainment, Tech & Innovation and Lifestyle; or you can just go on and enable them all. Lastly, you can prepare the app for offline reading, although you should probably only do this when you’re connected to a WiFi network since the app will download quite a bit of data to prepare for your times away from the Internet.

Reading articles is pretty straightforward and there are no ways to personalize what you’re seeing here. If you need a bigger font, you’ll have to go back and make the adjustment from the aforementioned menu. You can, however, also read the comments the article has received if you want to see what others have to say about it.

All in all, this is a nice app that doesn’t present any real surprises when compared to other similar tools.
