Scribd 3.9.1
The app is easy to handle and has a clean interface, which makes it easy to navigate. In the Home area of the app you’ll find a series of titles, including some new, some Scribd-selected books, some from the New York Times bestselling fiction list, must-read classics and more, from a range of categories, including comic books.
Plenty of titles to choose from
You can also browse for books. There, you can choose whether to look for e-books or try out an audiobook to enjoy while doing chores around the house or travelling on a busy bus. There are several top categories, including fantasy, fiction, mystery, humor, romance, science fiction. You’ll also discover art books, titles from the cooking category, history and so on. This is applicable for both e-books and audiobooks.
In the “My Library” section of the app you’ll discover any books that you’ve stored in the library and on your device, the latter making them available offline. This goes for both types of books, although the audiobooks will obviously take a lot more space.
All titles come with reviews from readers, so you should check those out too before picking out a new title.
Great e-book reader
The e-book reading tool offers a range of options. You can travel to any spot in the book with the help of the search feature or the slider at the bottom of the screen. Then, you can adjust the app to better fit your needs – you can increase or decrease the brightness, modify the size of the font, change the font style or pick another background for the book – day, night or sepia.Basically, these are options that you’d find in your regular e-reader, most that we’ve all become accustomed to.
The audiobook player has some pretty cool features too, allowing you to jump from chapter to chapter, to go to a certain location at any time and to pause/play with ease. You can also set up a sleep timer, and a playback speed.
The Scribd app is quite awesome and it offers a pretty large library of e-books and audiobooks, which makes the monthly fee feel like it’s not that much and wish we all had more time to dedicate to losing ourselves in the books we read.
