Google Play Newsstand 3.1

Knowing what’s happening in the world around you is extremely important, regardless of the type of information you’re seeking.

The Google Play Newsstand is an app that allows you to read articles from a wide range of sources. While browsing through the app, you’ll notice that they’re divided into several categories, such as highlights, news, business, entertainment, sports, technology, and world. Each of these comes with a cover and a color theme.

As you pick one of these, you’ll notice various news articles in the form of cards, complete with the source’s name, a tag regarding the topic and just how many hours have passed since it was published.

Right beneath you’ll notice a series of other sources you can access and the list will just grow wider if you spin the phone to landscape mode. When you choose one of these, you’ll be able to view more content from that source, including some of the categories they have available.

The app provides you with a way to search for content that you want to read about. The results page includes news sources, topics and feeds, as well as articles that might fit what you’re looking for.

Personalize your library

If you want to save any articles for later reading, you can do this by tapping the special button at the top of the article. You’ll then find the titles via the “Bookmarks” field in the side menu.

Accessing the “My Library” portion will give you access to the news sources you’ve added to your favorite list, as well as the topics you’ve picked. There are already some of those available in there, but you can always add more to personalize your experience to the max.

The “Explore” section of the same menu gives you access to more topics. You can add these to your list or go through the news sources in the list and add some of those to the library.

This is an app that moves fast and makes the most out of what the iOS speed has to offer. It’s a tool that will keep you connected to world around you and, as long as you remember to check in from time to time, you’ll actually know what’s happening.
