Google Play Newsstand 3.3.1
Impressive interface with articles arranged into cards
Google Play Newsstand manages to sport a quite impressive UI with plenty of animation to enjoy. The interface is quite sleek without clogging the screen with too much information or features. It provides users with a tutorial so you'd be able to get accustomed to the app fast.
Before using it you'll need to tweak settings and make sure you customize the app to your preferences. Adjust text size to make it easier to read articles and have the app download content only via Wi-Fi, so you won't waste precious mobile data.
Browse through articles seamlessly
The app comes with articles divided on topics. The highlight section is filled with mini-cards that help you read only the most popular articles and see containing pictures. Swipe to get to another topic, choose from business, entertainment, sports and technology.
World news are also provided and you can use the search bar to find content that interests you the most. Articles can be bookmarked, shares or opened in the browser for more opinions. There's also the option of bookmarking articles and the ones that you've already read are grayed out.
Explore various reports and articles
The explore section is filled with all sorts of topics that you can add to your feed. The app lets you add topics and manage news providers by choosing from a long list containing some of the top agencies and magazines on the market.
All your bookmarks are found in the side menu on the left, for quick access even if you're offline. You can even shift through your Google account to manage content. Still, the app doesn't come with a night view or darker theme and it doesn't give users the option to set notifications when new content is available.
