Google Calendar 1.0.2
While Google Calendar has been something that is available for Android users from the get-go, and it’s a service that can be accessed online quite easily. The mobile app for iOS users, however, has just now been launched.
Easy for everyone
For those who are familiar with the service already, the app should be quite easy to handle. Those who aren’t necessarily acquainted with Google Calendar should have a very easy time figuring out how the app works since it’s all very intuitive.
As you launch the tool, you’ll get to go through a short guide, letting you see what the app has to offer, such as the fact that you can add photos and maps to the calendar, get suggestions from Google for titles, contacts and other things as you create entries. Probably the coolest part, however (and the creepiest to some level) is the fact that you’ll get things imported into Calendar straight from Gmail, such as flight reservations, bookings, and so on. This, of course, happens to Calendar as a whole, not just the iOS app.
Then, the app lets you decide what account to use for Calendar. If you have more than one account on the phone, you’ll get the option to use them all.
The calendar interface itself is pretty easy to figure out. If there are any entries in there, such as birthdays for contacts, appointments you have already set up in Calendars, you’ll get to see them all. Tapping on the month name at the top will reveal the full calendar for the month, where the current date is marked down.
Create new entries
New events can be created by tapping the big plus button in the bottom right corner, one that has become a consistent presence in Google’s apps since Material Design was launched. Creating an event is quite easy and you can enter a title, people or places, adjust when the event takes place, add locations, adjust the notifications, invite people and assign a color to be present in the app.
The calendar can be viewed in three different modes. It’s possible to only highlight the schedule, see each day or view the calendar in three-day stretches.
The app is quite easy to handle and very efficient in getting all your meeting, appointments and other events in check.
