ChoreMonster 2.5.1

ChoreMonster seeks to help parents and children with getting things done
Getting your kids to do anything around the house can be more difficult in practice than in theory. Chores are no one’s favorite thing to do, but that doesn’t mean they need to be ignored. In fact, they need to be accomplished and getting some help around the house is a great thing for all parents, as well as a learning experience for all children.

ChoreMonster is an app that seeks to make things easier for everyone involved, both parents and children.

Make accounts for yourself and your child

The app allows you to set up two login accounts. One for yourself, tied to an email address, and one for your kids, complete with a name and a password that’s easy to remember.

You’ll have to start things off by adding in some information about your child, such as his or her name. You should also pick a reward for them and a chore they must complete before being allowed access to that ice cream, or video game time.

Once you’ve set things up, you can pass the phone over to your child, log him or her in the account and go through a few games. For instance, one will have them detect which of a slew of object is not a toy, giving them some good advice at the end (don’t play with knives, kids!). This will earn your kid the chance to unlock a new character.

Then, it’s time for the actual chore. The child will see what you’re offering and what they have to do in order to get their hands on the prize. Once they are finished, they’ll have to tap a button on the screen and pass the phone back to the parent.

Check progress

From your parent account, you can check out the overview of your child’s activity. For instance, how many of the chores he or she requested you’ve yet to approve, how many chores are overdue and how many rewards you have to confirm. This means that if the pet’s food bowl is still empty, they’re not getting the reward you promised.

From the settings area you can add more info about your child, such as their birthday, a picture, their gender and a four-digit pin. Data about yourself can be added too, such as a picture, the general location, and the name your kids call you.

Chores can be adjusted too, which means you can choose if they’re repetitive, and what’s the latest they should be completed before.

This is a pretty cool app that both you and your kids can enjoy. It will certainly make things a lot more fun and easier to handle. Even if you’re not sure it’s going to work in your household, you can certainly try it out and see if you could get any results.
