Do you have a meeting in the morning and want to make sure your colleague remembers they need to be there extra early? Or perhaps you need to ask your spouse to get take-out on the way home and you’re sure they’re going to forget?

Well, as always “there’s an app for that”. DoNext is a tool that seeks to bring messaging to a whole new level, eliminating the actual texting part and introducing the push notifications to remind you to do various things.

Sync calendars

The app integrates with calendars and reminders and makes it possible for you to ask people to either do things with you or for you. The whole process is actually quite simple and that’s in part thanks to the intuitive interface.

You just have to tap on the plus sign and make the new entry. You can choose between having someone do something with you or for you before entering their email address. Addresses you’ve used before will appear without having to do all the typing again.

Each entry can then be personalized. You’ll have to type in exactly what you want others to do, whether that’s to pay a bill, buy something on the way home or check a contract for work. Then, you can schedule the entry, which basically amounts to setting up a deadline in some cases. You can pick the date and time, as well as how long the meeting is expected to last, for instance.

The location where everything is supposed to take place can be adjusted too, while a personalized message can be sent to the recipient. Once a task has been completed, you can just mark it accordingly on your phone.

Can you switch things up?

Overall, this is a nice app and it can be fun to work with it. It should also be quite helpful in getting your tasks organized, while also making assigning tasks a breeze.

DoNext is a nice app to have around, even though it may take a while for you to get used to using this one instead of firing up a text that someone might forget about, or an email that will get buried in between all the others.

The idea behind the app is to make everything easier for everyone involved and to eliminate any miscommunications that could appear. Whether this will be a successful idea or not, it remains to be seen.
