Clarify 1.4.1

Translate words and texts from various languages
Whenever you’re travelling to a foreign country, it’s best if you have a dictionary on hand to better understand what’s happening around you and even to communicate with the locals, even if they don’t speak your language or one that you know.

Clarify is an app that offers different digital dictionaries, covering some 30 languages. The intuitive design makes this tool extremely easy to figure out and should pose no issues for first-time users.

So, after you’ve launched the app, you have to sign in. the account can be based on an email address you provide or you can connect with Facebook’s social login. It’s also possible to try thing out as a guest.

Set things up

Then, you move on to the good stuff. Namely, you have to select your first language, or the one you use the most. The next step is picking out one or more languages that you’re interested in and having the app search through dictionaries related to these.

The app’s main page allows you to look for various words and see how they translate in various languages you’ve picked, but also a regular definition of the word. There are several dictionaries available and you’ll be able to see results from each and every one of these as you scroll through it all.

Translate phrases

At the top of the page, you can see a few buttons. Next to the search icon, which lets you scour various dictionaries, there’s the tab for translations. You can either type or paste the text you want translated, which means you can get a better understanding of what other people are saying, or even better, know how to tell them something in their own language.

You should watch out, however, since this section of the app is powered by Google Translate and everyone knows just how shady the service can be on many occasions. At the very least, you’ll get your point across, even if your grammar will be less than desirable.

The app’s Settings allows you to go pick other languages if you so desire. There’s also the possibility to pick the dictionaries you want to use.
All in all, this is a nice tool to have around and it can certainly be useful when you least expect it.
