Learn Languages: Rosetta Stone 2.3.4
Learn Languages: Rosetta Stone is an app that was built specifically to help you out with when trying to learn a new foreign language. The tool comes with a simple interface, so figuring out the app isn’t difficult at all.
Wide range of languages
The tool helps you learn a range of languages, including English (American and British), Chinese, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and so on. The number of available languages isn’t all that big, but the selection is definitely larger than with other app.s
After you set up an account, for which you’ll require an email address, the app asks you to set up your profile by selecting the voice type that best describes your own voice, so the app knows what to expect and what to listen for. You can pick between “Adult male,” “Adult female,” and “Child”.
There are multiple lessons you can check out, starting with the core one. Then, there’s pronounciation, vocabulary, grammar and reading exercises, each lesson lasting for anywhere between ten minutes to half an hour. There are multiple lessons you can go through, including writing and listening exercises, as well as speaking.
As you’d expect, the lessons are free only in part. For the rest of the course you’ll have to pay about $200.
Start your learning
Before you start any of the lessons, you’ll have to go through a little setup that involves adjusting your headphone volume and making sure the phone’s microphone is active. As you go through the lessons, you’ll sometimes have to speak up and pronounce something, while on other occasions you’ll have to match a phrase to a picture. It all depends on the type of exercise you go through, of course.
Learning Languages: Rosetta Stone is a nice tool and you’ll certainly be able to learn quite a bit by using it. It’s pretty easy to work with and you shouldn’t have any difficulties from this point of view.
