When you have so many things to accomplish on a daily base it’s easy to forget to also focus on the little pieces that make your life complete. Getting things done is the priority, while the smaller things are often left for “tomorrow,” a day that often never seems to come.

Balanced is an app that wants to help bring the little things into focus by reminding you of the things you should be doing, the things you yourself have marked as needing to be accomplished.

Easy to figure out

The app itself is pretty straightforward and tells you just what you can do and what you may accomplish. The interface is simple and clean, making it easy to figure out where to go.

There are several types of activities that you can delve into, divided into categories. For instance, you can pick things that you need to do for yourself, such as meditating, reading, drinking water and eating fruits, or even planning to see that friend you never get to see anymore. Or, perhaps you want to try out tasks that fall into the Fitness category (running, going to the gym, riding your bike, swimming), or the Creativity one (take great photos, paint or draw, wrote a blog entry) and so on. There are several other categories in there that you can pick from, including working on your confidence, discovering new things, and showing your appreciation.

Of course, it’s also possible to add your own activities if they are not already on the lists provided by the app.

Add your own

When you add a new activity you can personalize it to fit your needs. For instance, you have to choose a number of times that you think you should try to do that particular thing and a time interval, varying from a day, a week, a month or a year. You may further personalize things by picking an icon to use.

The list appears on the main screen. Swiping one of the tasks to the right will mark it as “done” while swiping to the left will help you skip the task for now, although you may want to actually complete these things you set for yourself since that’s the whole purpose of it all.

All in all, Balanced is a nice tool that you can use on an everyday basis to keep track of the things important to you.
