Wallpapers iOS 8 edition 2.4
Pretty much any image can become a wallpaper, and unless iOS does something with a particular kind of image, it’s no more optimized for iOS 8 than it is for iOS 1.
Just a Bing image filter
Wallpapers for iOS edition is a lie. It’s not optimized for iOS 8 or the latest iPhones in any way, and it simply downloads Bing images by category and puts them on your iDevice. That said, it’s not useless either.
It’s optimized to search for crisp, high-resolution images in categories like paradise, flowers, space, abstract, tropics, vintage, cars, fashion, and dozens of others. The search function lets you search for things you like with no restrictions whatsoever (except for the nudity filters, of course), and there’s a favorites tab that holds all the photos you’ve starred.
Trending
Evidence that this is by no means a dedicated wallpaper app is the Trending section, where it serves up images based on people’s Bing searches. Such as Kate Middleton, Charles Durning, New York, Harry Carey Jr. and Whales.
But depending on what flips your switch, there’s something in there for everyone.
Picture quality, Pro version
Not all images are of high quality, and not all of them can be used as wallpapers. At least no in our vision. However, considering the sheer amount of photos available on Bing, it’s hard not to find something that piques your interest and also looks okay. Just be prepared to stumble upon a lot of awkward pictures that would normally have no place in an wallpaper app.
As far as the Pro version is concerned, it doesn’t contain ads, which means the whole screen is used exclusively for previewing images.

Bottom Line
Design / UI6
Wallpapers iOS 8 edition hardly has any design as an app. But it’s not ugly either. |
Function8
Finds pretty images for your iDevice and lets you set them as wallpapers, but there’s nothing special about it and there’s certainly no correlation with iOS 8. |
Security9
Some images are clearly no appropriate for all ages, especially if you get naughty with that search function, but the age requirement is appropriate (17+). |
Battery8
No abnormal behavior here. |
Price8
You get a lot for $0, but the Pro version isn’t really worth the buy. |
Compatibility9
It requires iOS 6 and has an iPad-ready version that displays even bigger, better wallpapers. |
A good tool to fetch some crisp imagery from Bing, fast and painless.
