Life Coach - FREE Self Improvement, Personal Development and Hypnotherapy 1.1
One of TapMedia's lookers
TapMedia has a huge portfolio of applications, some of which have been left unattended for quite some time. Others, however, really shine. Self Help is one of them. Using an iBooks-style UI and its own built-in store, this simple-to-use app lets you browse and download self-motivating material (mostly audio) and improve your life on the spot.
The app is also optimized for iOS 8, which means that it should run perfectly with all updated devices and the new phones Apple launched.
An app that can change your life
Self Help is not only polished, but it’s also very beneficial. You have every right to choose what you believe in and follow your own methods to succeed in life - sleep better, relax yourself, attract a partner, and so on, and so forth. But when things don’t seem to be going in the right direction, you really have nothing to lose if you give these lectures a try.
Self Help doesn’t come loaded with hundreds of pages worth of nonsense. Quite the contrary. Most of the content in there is audio, and you get to select a nice moving background (space travel, flying through clouds, waves crashing on the beach at sunset) and just immerse yourself in the voice that tells you to reconsider your approach.
Everything in the store is completely free of charge, and every title comes with a description about the lecture, the author, and its purpose. Downloading is a bit slow, and sometimes the app will freeze your purchases / download, in which case you have to reinstall it again (a huge downside).
Built-in store
Thanks to the built-in store, Self Help really is its own boss. No need to get out of the app to add books and audio tracks, just hit the download button and you’re off. It might help to limit your downloads to one at a time, as the app tends to freeze when faced with multiple downloads at once.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
One of TapMedia’s gems, Self Help not only looks great but also works nice and smooth. The built-in store looks a lot like Apple’s own iBookstore, and the app itself is derived from iBooks. Don’t get the wrong idea, it’s not a blatant copy of Apple’s software. |
Function8
Thanks to the built-in store, Self Help really is its own boss. You can control the voice and the music in some tracks individually, as well as set a nice relaxing background to watch. |
Security9
No privacy issues involved, but it does require multiple instances of sign-in if you download content on a regular basis. |
Battery8
Normal consumption levels. |
Price9
Free of charge with ads but no in-app purchases (at least none that cost money). |
Compatibility9
Self Help is very well optimized for tablets, so if you have an iPad laying around, don’t hesitate to get it there. Also, the app only requires iOS 6 and displays natively on all screen sizes. |
A wonderful and enriching experience
