Free and paid classes
Crafty provides, as you’d expect, tutorials that are completely free of charge, but also some for which you’ll have to pay up. The free classes cover a wide range of topics, but they’re not that many compared to the total number of available classes.
You’ll even find classes that are on sale and take advantage of the price drop. Talking of which, the classes available in the app have varying prices, going from as low as €17.99 and as high as €44.99 for those with a higher difficulty level.
For instance, a set of lessons about picture book illustrating costs €35.99 and it includes a total of seven classes, totaling over two hours of videos taking you through creating realistic characters, how to draw human characteristics correctly, refining the composition, finishing the drawing, adding ink and watercolor, or colored pencils, and adding the finishing touches to your work.
The nice part about Craftsy is that once you’re done with your project, or even a stage of it, you’ll be able to share pictures of your work and get feedback from other members of the community.
Filter your classes
For each lesson category you’re looking for, you’ll be able to fiddle with some filters. For the jewelry making course, for instance, you can check out classes about wirework, beading or metal, glass and clay. You may also choose to further filter the collection by choosing your skill level (or levels if you want a good-for-all task).
From the menu panel you can check out all the available classes, see the ones you’ve enrolled on to and some of those that are recommended for you. You can even add some to a wishlist for future purchase.
Hone your skills
Craftsy is all about having fun with the things you like to do. Whether you want to nourish a new hobby or improve on a skill you already have, maybe even learn something new to start a business, this particular app will be quite helpful and you should find it easy to handle.
The fact that you can use the offline mode to watch your classes anywhere, even when you don’t have an Internet connection available is particularly handy.
