KAYAK 35.0.1
Boring UI, but still quite usable
KAYAK doesn’t have much of an interface. It appears a little too spaced out and doesn’t use graphics to guide you through the motions. You’re left figuring out the details yourself, but if you’re not a complete stranger to your smartphone, then you shouldn’t have any problems getting used to it in a couple of minutes.
It’s basically just a three-color affair (white, black and orange), and the only additional pop you’ll get to see in this app are the photos for the hotel rooms and the cars you’re going to book.
The app comes with native high resolution for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users, which means users should get a much better experience than they did before the rather recent update.
This one has it all
And when I say all, I do mean literally all. You can use it to browse for your destination and book a hotel room there (it knows almost every hotel in the world), book a two way flight (or more flights), rent a car to have it waiting for you when you arrive at your destination, keep a trip agenda, consult a flight tracker, get alerts on price changes and other stuff, browse flight search trends, and even get airline info by calling them right from within the app.
Packing list, currency converter
There’s more. The Packing List module enables you to tick off things that you’re putting in your back so you won’t forget anything important at home. There’s not a single object that KAYAK doesn’t have a listing for (as well as an appropriate picture), and you can even add your own. It’s also equipped with a handy currency converter.

Bottom Line
Design / UI6
Despite being an altogether terrific app, we need to be fair and grade it properly for its mediocre looks. |
Function9
Has you covered with just about every aspect of your trip. |
Security8
Wouldn’t hurt to have a passcode lock. After all, it’s the type of app that holds a lot of your personal info and plans. |
Battery8
Normal consumption levels. |
Price10
No price to pay to use KAYAK. 100% free of charge, no ads, and no IAPs. |
Compatibility8
Requires iOS 7.1 and works with every iDevice rolled out by Apple. |
A true asset for every traveler, especially those who are constantly on the move.
