Everyone has guilty little pleasures and, for some, these amount to reading news and gossip about Hollywood stars, fashion models and other entertainment-related topics. This type of news may not help you get a better understanding of how the world works and how money makes the world go round, but you’ll at least be able to gossip about the popular topics around the water cooler.

GLAMLIFE is an app that was built to bring you the latest celebrity news, fashion scoops, trends and various other beauty-related information.

Let the app learn more about you

As you launch the app, you’ll have to tell the app what kind of topics you’re most interested in so it can built your home screen. You can always go back later and adjust the topics, add more and remove some that you’ve lost interest in.

The categories are arranged on the screen as cards, with the “Top Stories” one full of a carousel of pictures. After you pick one of the categories, it’s possible to scroll through the many news articles presented there, which come complete with a picture icon, the headline and how much time has passed since it was published. If you want to read news on a specific popular topics, you can tap on the topic button at the top of the screen, which the app will point out to you on your first trip around the app, and pick one of the items there.

Reading the articles is extremely easy, thanks to the way the text is displayed. Basically, you’ll be able to see the article’s cover photo, the source and time it was published before moving on to the headline and article.

It’s possible to share the news via Facebook, Twitter or other mediums, such as SMS or email. The right-side menu allows you to switch to night mode, which dims down the screen brightness quite a bit, increase and decrease the font size if necessary.

A learning curve

The more you read, the more the app learns about what you like and will start recommending more similar articles to you once the profile is ready to go.
The app’s Settings area gives you the opportunity to choose what content providers you want to read articles from, what edition to read (International, USA, UK< France, Italy, Spain and Germany), whether the images should be downloaded when WiFI is available, when you shouldn’t get notifications from the app and so on.
