Clean interface with plenty of features at hand
Tech News sports a really nice UI with many features at hand, it doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to show new users how to navigate inside the app and access all of its features.
The app doesn't need online registration, which means that it shouldn't really pose any privacy issues. In addition, it doesn't have a side menu to help you access all sections inside the app.
Still, it has a refresh button so that you can update your feed and get the latest stories from top websites and news providers on the internet. Still, it doesn't have a search bar so you won't be able to search for articles on a certain topic or using key words.
Browse through all sort of articles
The app lets you search for articles easily, by simply swiping the screen. It has all the major news providers and websites arranged into tabs, scroll down to find articles. Each story has a picture next to it and it shows the date when it was posted.
It features some of the top websites out there like Gizmodo, CNet, SlashDot and more. You can also jump to feed by tapping on a button in the toolbar and read stories from only a certain source.
Read all sort of articles
Simply tap on one article to open and read it. The app only shows a short version of the article, the rest can be accessed on the website. You can enlarge text easily with the tap of one button or share the page online with friends on social networks.
The app lets you make some changes to the interface, like enable image loading, change default font size for articles or display a confirmation message on exit. It comes with quite annoying banner ads, but it lets you change the advertising or feed order. Still, you can't make a purchase to remove ads, but you can manage the feed and get articles in English, Spanish or Italian.

Design / UI8
The interface is clean with all articles featured in a list, but it could use an upgrade and many more features at hand. |
Function7
It's great for reading all the top tech news in one place, but it doesn't mark read articles and doesn't come with some basic features like night mode. |
Security7
It needs access to location services, but it doesn't really have a feature that would use them. |
Battery9
Consumption is low so you don't need to worry about the app draining your resources. |
Price8
It comes with banner ads but there's no option of removing them which is quite inconvenient. |
Compatibility7
The developer didn't mention Android versions compatible with this app. |
It's a nice news reader but it really needs more features.
