Tech News 1.6.1
An app that does just that is Tech News. But it doesn't work as you'd expect it to, it's merely a collection of websites that you can access easily from within the application.
Organized layout with some features
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to show users how to navigate inside the app and explain the concept behind it. But you wouldn't really need such features, since the interface is pretty simplistic in its own.
The app is merely a collection of bookmarks, which you can arrange however you wish on the home screen. It offers some options but not that many. Still, it doesn't have too many demands from users and their phones, in the sense that it doesn't need online registration and it wants few permissions from your phone.
Organize your news feed
The app launches with a list of top tech websites and it comes with an overflow icon on the top right side of the screen. You can refresh the feed to receive updates or add whichever website you wish. Simply type in the name of the website, together with its mobile and desktop URL to add to your list.
You can change its position easily simply by using arrows, but the app doesn't let you drag and drop for the same effect. Still it lets you remove or delete items from the list. You can also sort them alphabetically or by frequently read, but you'll have to access the settings for that.
Limited use
Simply tap on a website to open the mobile version, you can also switch to the desktop version but the app takes a while to load because it doesn't have offline functionality or it doesn't pre-load page cache. It also lets you share pages on social networks or by email.
You can also zoom in on text easily, but there aren't many other features inside the app. It's merely a collection of bookmarks and doesn't really offer any extra features compared to your usual browser. It would have been nice if the app displayed at least the top headline from websites or the date when the user last accessed them.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The interface is quite ordinary, with only a few settings and no night mode which would have been quite useful. |
Function7
It does it's job but nothing more, the app desperately needs to be upgraded with some extra features and tools to improve its functionality. |
Security9
Since it accesses few areas of your phone and doesn't need online registration, the app shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery4
Consumption is a bit high considering that the app only needs access to the internet in order to load pages. |
Price8
It comes with banner ads and there's no option to remove them with an upgrade. |
Compatibility9
It should work on devices running Android version 2.3 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It does what it promises and that's about it.
