Taptu is a stylish and sleek news reader app with plenty of features to offer and reports on all topics. It offers articles only on topics that interest you the most and lets you read full reports on the original website.
Sleek but a bit clogged interface
The app comes with plenty of instructions, nicely arranged in a tutorial showing new users how to operate inside the app and use all its features. But before they can do this, users must register with an account, either Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Google, but you can't use an email address.
The reason for this is because the app needs users to connect with their social networks in order to provide them with suggestions of articles that they're friends are reading.
The app comes in a light and dark theme and users can adjust the article and card fonts. You can also change the size of images that appear on the home screen.
Get only the news feed that interests you
Based on the topics that you've chosen, the app provides you with all the articles that interest you the most. You can change their position on the home screen, add or remove streams or search for articles using the search bar.
Users can also mark articles as read, resize streams or share them with friends. Users can also have the app load 10 articles per stream or automatic refresh the news feed at a certain hour of the day.
Read all sorts of articles
Simply tap on an article to read, you can have the app exclude the ones that you've already read. You can add bookmarks to articles, share them with friends or change the font.
In addition, users have the option of viewing articles in the browser and they get suggestions of streams that they can follow. The app also comes with a number of highly customizable widgets including scrollable lists and stacks, with custom update times and multiple backgrounds.
Users can also get Twitter feeds from their favorite newspapers or magazines and even blogs or websites.
