Simplistic news reader that provides you with good content but few features

Staying informed and reading the latest news is important for many people, that's why news reader apps are very popular on Google Play Store and the best of them manage to attract users and record millions of downloads. But it's important to provide top-quality content together with an intuitive interface filled with all sorts of features for users to have. Fast News only does half the job. Content is truly varied and good, but the app lags behind when it comes to tools and UI design.

Boring design with few features

The app doesn't need online registration so you can use it without worry about providing too much personal information. Fast News app comes with some tips and instructions on how to use the app, but you shouldn't have any trouble with it, seeing how it's quite simplistic and easy-to-use.

A toolbar on top provides you with a refresh button, the option of choosing the feed and access to the settings menu. The app comes with banner ads, which may prove annoying and take the focus off reading, especially since there's no option of removing them.

Adjust settings to your preference

Before you can start enjoying the app, you'll need to complete the quick setup. It requires users to choose their location and the list of newspapers they'd like to receive content from. You can also have the app load images and change the default font size.

Article size can be changed from the menu or from the reading mode. You can have the app keep screen on while reading and change the feed order of articles displayed in the app.

Read various articles

Swipe the screen left to access content from a different newspaper or agency, but you'll see that not all articles load images in the news feed. Tap on titles to read articles, you can also open them in webpages, a feature which will give you access to all sections of the website, including comments and related articles.

Reports can be shared with friends on social networks. There's also an icon that lets you jump to a certain feed and access articles instantly. The app doesn't come with modes to select from or the option of downloading content to your phone, in order to read articles later. Additional themes are not available.
