But everybody treasures their privacy so it's only normal that there's a search engine that stands out from the crowd and doesn't behave like all the rest. DuckDuckGo is that engine and it also has an app.
Surprising interface
We've tested or fair share of internet browsers and DuckDuckGo is by far the most simplistic. It seems that developers have stripped the app of unnecessary sections and left it only with essential features, like anonymity and increased privacy when surfing.
The app features a side menu on the left and the option of changing the theme. You can choose from only two, dark and light but you can change the size of the font. Disable cookies so the app wouldn't save them on your device and clear cache directly from the settings menu.
Browse the internet safely
It doesn't require online registration as the app doesn't record your behavioral searches and provides you results based on your search key. Open links with one tap inside the app or open then in an external browser.
You also have the option of sharing information with friends on social networks. You can also save searches but not webpages. Your search history is available in the menu on the left, tap on one link to open the website again.
Read stories
The app opens with lots of stories to read, on various topics. They're articles on related topics, the app collects the most shared and up-voted stories from various websites and provides them to users to read. Manage sources by checking the boxes next to them.
You can filter providers of business articles, current events, entertainment, gaming, social, technology and more. You can save stories for later reading, share them with friends or open them in an external browser. Recent stories that you've read are featured in the side menu so you can return to them whenever you wish. You can also install the app on your SD card.
