Download Manager 4.57.12011
Download Manager lets you save files to your phone, manage and play them instantly inside the app. Tabs help you search for content instantly, but you'll need a bit of time to get accustomed to the layout and find shortcuts to the features inside.
Confusing but stylish interface
The app incorporates many features and sections, it opens with a browser and side menu that offers shortcuts to many tools. A tutorial would have been useful to show users how to operate inside the app and how to download content.
Still, there are detailed instructions under the help section with everything you need to know. You'll find multiple options under the settings menu, you can set the download directory, have the app use mobile data when Wi-Fi isn't available or clear download list. Browser settings are also available, including incognito mode and the option to clear browser history.
Browse the internet easily
Internet browsing can be made using up to five tabs, you can manage them from the side menu. The browser opens with a toolbar featuring types of websites you can visit. Tap on one and it will provide you with suggestions and everything you need to browse easily. The home section has links to many popular websites, including social networks and video streaming.
There's the option of bookmarking pages or checking the history of pages you've visited. However, it can't be set to open the last page you've visited and when you close the app, it will automatically close opened tabs. In addition, the settings menu has some interface problems and some glitches when loading.
Download files
It features an icon on top for downloading videos and all sorts of files, but the icon isn't always there. Long press on videos for download options like location, multi part download and enable auto open to have the app stream the clip when it's done.
Download Manager comes with its very own player incorporated, but it will only open files saved using the app. Other than that, you can copy the URL and do to the download section to fetch the file. The file manager lets you sort through all files stored on your phone, you can delete whichever you'd like but not rearrange them into folders.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is nice but it could really use a tutorial to make it easier to navigate and find features. |
Function8
It works just well, but the UI should have a download icon in all tabs to make it easier to fetch files. |
Security7
No online registration is needed but it comes with a rather extensive privacy policy which reveals that the app collects data on its users. |
Battery3
A true battery drainer, the app constantly runs in the background eating up your resources. |
Price8
It's free but comes with full screen and banner ads, remove them for a mere 1.62$. |
Compatibility8
Devices running Android version 2.3.3 or later shouldn't have any trouble with this app. |
A cute file downloader and browser, but it could use some more features.
