Interface that lacks instructions
Most news readers come with a comprehensive tutorial and instructions to provide users with all the tools they need, before starting to enjoy content. Discovery News doesn't have instructions, the app opens directly with the front page.
The interface seems a bit dated, especially the menu section. It's located on the left side of the screen for easy access, but it's not well designed and the name of some sections doesn't fit the screen. The only settings that you can make is for downloading stories for offline reading.
Read various updated articles
When it comes to content, Discovery News hits the mark. The articles are well written and feature lots of topics. In fact all sections are arranged in the menu, you can choose from articles on space, animals, history and tech. Still, you'd have to be patient with this app as it has the tendency to freeze or even crash at times.
In addition, the app has trouble loading any kind of images which makes it impossible to read articles based on picture galleries. Still, the app comes with the latest stories which you can favorite, share or read them offline.
Watch videos
There's also the option of checking out various videos on lots of topics, but they aren't categorizes and sometimes the video quality is really poor making it difficult to watch. The app also comes with a Discovernator feature, which provides users with short facts on several factors, for users to check out, but it doesn't have a share function.
