It's important to stay on top of the news and to be informed all the time, especially when it comes to local and world events. Considering the popularity of news readers among Android users, TV stations have also launched their very own applications for phones and tablets operating this OS. CNN also launched an app CNN Breaking US & World News which provides users with the top reports from the US and the world.

Intuitive interface with features at hand

The app doesn't require users to register with an account and it also doesn't have instructions or a tutorial. Still, it comes with sporadic ads to shows and programs at the station. The side menu is filled with all the sections you might find in the app, as well as topics for articles.

There are some settings you can do to the app, choose articles from the US or international. You can have the app provide you with alerts for breaking news, adjust temperature units by selecting Celsius or Fahrenheit and turn on location services so the app can provide you with the weather forecast.

Read various articles

Instead of dividing reports on topics, CNN arranges them on location because it has many correspondents in almost all countries of the world. Therefore, you can choose from various regions, including Europe, the Middle East or Latin America. There are also some topics you can choose from, including world sport, entertainment, tech and travel.

The articles are professionally written, so you don't have to worry about their accuracy. You can share them on various social platforms, read and post comments, or save them for offline reading. Pull down the screen to have your news feed refreshed. It displays the time of the publication on the main screen and it lets you change font size.

Watch shows and videos

Videos come in HD and don't have any trouble loading. They can also be shared and you can rewind play with 30 seconds in case you've missed an important piece of information. The iReport section features extensive stories and slideshows on various topics.

The stories are uploaded by users and made available in the application. You can contribute to the content by simply tapping on an icon and uploading a video or picture. The app also lets you watch CNN shows, mainly Amanpour and another show.
