Quick Translator 1.4.2.1
For those who rely a lot on their gadgets and mobile devices, having a specialized application like Quick Translator at hand might be an important advantage, especially considering the range of possibilities it offers.
Unattractive, but easy to use front-end
Presenting itself as a serious and somber application, dressed all in black, this utility is less appealing, but very much practical, as you will surely notice from the first use.
The features and commands are all at hand, while moving around the various sections of the app is done quite smoothly and without any delays or other types of flaws.
Very responsive from the instant you start typing, the app displays possible suggestions as you write them down and browsing through the list of results has a very fast and fluent feel to it every time.
A noticeable drawback is the fact that the text input area does not expand, so when you reach the end of the line, it will continue on the same row, making it hard to go back and check out the content you typed in.
Select languages and type in the words and phrases to translate
Picking the two languages that will be used for the translation is very simple, as all you have to do is tap on the dedicated field, under the text box and access the long list of available entries.
Quick Translator has in store over 90 languages and, more importantly, it features a "Detect language" function that works pretty well, but this is to be expected since the app uses the Google Translate engine.
The suggestions and results appear very quickly, as you type and there is an option activated by default that makes automatic corrections, which you can disable with one tap from the "Settings" area.
Switching languages is also at hand, as there is a special button for this hosted in the main menu that appears in the lower side of the main screen.
Meanings and translations for single words
Another very cool feature of this utility is the ability to show you multiple significances of individual words, while also translating them.
In order to achieve this, all you have to do is enter in the text area a single word, be it a noun, verb, adjective or any other part of speech.
