Do you want worldwide access to events as well as the ability to hook you up with guest lists, tickets and photos, all into one place? Vamos - The Event Guide is a free app that can do all this for you in exchange for very little of your information, or your Facebook credentials.

The purpose

Vamos’ purpose is really simple. It’s designed to let you in on the buzz around you. You can choose arts & culture, family stuff, nightlife, music, networking, food & drink, fashion, and more, share your location, and any event in that category will be instantly displayed to you. Your friends, which you can follow, will turn into local event curators, and you can see who’s attending, just like on Facebook. Other search criteria include time, distance, and suggestions.

Wants to post to Facebook

Unfortunately Vamos isn’ satisfied being its own boss. It will try to connect to Facebook and share stuff for you all the time. It’s deeply integrated with the social network, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing if you’re looking for a good time, all the time. The good thing is you can get tickets and guests lists to events.

Clever UI

The map lookup is cleverly designed to let you zoom in and out of a particular area and let you see pins of the things you’re interested in. Your profile is visible to others without any options to make yourself invisible, and the settings are almost inexistent. Again, take the good with the bad

Bottom Line

Design / UI7 Vamos uses nice graphics but it’s a bit confusing and not very easy to navigate.	Function7 It highlights all the events in a particular category happening around you, or somewhere else. It lets you follow clubs and bars and people, but it’s not very social.	Security8 It insists on connecting to Facebook a lot, and wants to post for you.
Battery8 Normal consumption levels (and you probably won’t be using it for too long either)	Price10 Fully free with no ads or in-app purchases.	Compatibility7 Requires iOS 7 as minimum firmware, no iPad version.
