Real Simple Checklist 1.1.1

Whether you’re moving into a new home or doing some trivial grocery shopping, you need a checklist with you. While the traditional pen and paper have lived to serve us to this day, smartphones are taking over more and more of the duo’s tasks.

Efficient, ergonomic UI

Real Simple Checklist is one of those really simple apps that does exactly what its name implies and doesn’t disappoint. It looks amazingly simple on the outside, featuring a gradient-style UI to let you know where you are between tasks, while each category of checklists hides many different options, some standardized for that particular task.

The options pane is retractable and instantly accessible at all times, something we love over here at Softpedia, and the entire UI is just a pleasure to look at. However, we wouldn’t mind an option to tweak the font size a little. In fact, the Settings pane doesn’t even hide settings actually.

Entirely-based on drop-downs

Real Simple Checklist uses drop-down functionality to tuck away things you don’t need and reveal them when you need them. Tasks are easy to input and manage, and it even has a ringer function to remind you to do stuff.

The checkmarks are nice and big and the color palette is really contrasting, but not too intrusive either. As mentioned above, the retractable options panel is a really nice touch, but the Settings pane only includes Help, Rate Us, Share Our App, and other Real Simple apps. Not very nice coming from the people at Time Inc., just saying.
