As we’ve all become more and more reliant on our phones and other mobile devices, we’ve started to entrust them with holding our photographs and videos, often forgetting that it would probably be a good idea to back everything up so we’re not left without all the precious data stored there in case our phones get stolen or destroyed.

There are plenty of services that were created specifically for this particular purpose. Since it’s all so easy, it’s basically your own fault if the data is lost.
Nero BackItUp is a service from the software company that has given us one of the most reliable disc burning solutions. It was created to help back up all photos and videos on your iPhone and iPad, sending all the information back to the cloud, in your personal account. To set this one up, you’ll only need an email address and a safe password and you’ll get 5GB of storage space for free. Additional space can be purchased for a yearly fee.

Easy as pie

The app is pretty straight forward and doesn’t need a lot of your input. The tool will detect the photos on your phone on its own and will start the backup immediately. The auto backup feature will tell you how many photos it has detected and how many videos. It could take a while, depending on how many there are and their size, but it will get done relatively fast either way.

Once they’re all backed up, you’ll find the content in some of the other tabs in the app. Under the Photos tab, you’ll discover the pictures, videos and any albums you’ve created. Content can be shared with the world via text messages, emails, Twitter, Facebook or other tools you have installed.

Cloud access

The other tabs, such as Music, Files and Documents make it possible for you to access other types of media that you’ve uploaded to your Nero cloud account. The tracks can be organized by song name, artist, album, genre or playlist, while the files and documents are available alphabetically.

The Settings area allows you to log in and out of your account, change the password, enable backup data sources and make some additional adjustments. For instance, you can have the app only backup data when there’s a WiFi network available and to have it all stop when the battery level reaches a certain level.
