While there are many cloud services online, only a few offer real protection and free space. Nero provides users with 5 GB of space in the cloud or the options to backup data on PCs or SD cards.
Sleek interface with some features at hand
The whole concept behind this app is pretty straightforward, thus there's no need for a tutorial since the interface is really easy-to-use and with plenty of features at hand. It comes with a side menu and plenty of settings under the overflow icon on the top right corner of the screen.
But the first thing that you'll need to do in order to benefit from the storage space is to register with an account. You're only given the option of signing up with your email address and receiving 5 GB of free space on Nero servers.
Back up data to your cloud account
The app lets you pick what type of files you'd like to backup to your online cloud account. You can either pick from contacts, messages, call logs, system settings, music, photos or videos.
The app takes a while to upload data in the cloud, so you must be patient. Still, after it finishes backing up your information, you may access it from any device anywhere.
During the backing up process, it displays the progress it's made and the type of files it's uploading. The side menu on the left lets you browse through the files that you've uploaded. It may play videos and audio tracks or display pictures.
Backup data on your PC
The app also lets you backup data on your PC and for that it uses the WiFi connection to which both devices are connected. So you won't be needing cables or any other gimmicks to make this app work.
But you will need to install Nero BackItUp on your PC as well, so that the app may recognize your second device and begin backing up files. Also, Nero BackItUp can be set to save data on your internal memory card.
You can enable automatic backup and have the app save your information through the preferred method but only using WiFi. In addition, you can enable notifications as to see backup status and reminders.
