Menstrual Calendar 2.1.2
Standard menstrual calendar
Witiz’ app doesn’t offer any spectacular extras. What you see is what you get: a menstrual calendar app that lets you track things like weight, temperature, medications, symptoms, and lots more, all with the ability to grade them by intensity, size, duration, etc.
The calendar attempts to predict what your next period will be like based on what you’ve input the first time, and then tracks all your symptoms month by month. It includes a notes utility where you can jot down things like, feeling woozy, or having less headaches this time around, etc. Over the course of several months and even years, this lets you assess your condition better and determine if everything is in check, or whether you need to see a doctor.
Premium features
The free version is enough to get you by, but there’s a pro version of the app that opens up much more functionality.
These include the ability to create your own symptoms, customize the calendar layout and icons, view and edit data older than 3 months, see weight & basal body temperature charts, get cycle reports, email sharing, and more.
Security
Menstrual calendar apps are very private utilities. They hold a lot of your personal information, including medication, intercourse and pregnancy info, as well as your notes (which need to be as private as your privates). Developer witiz unfortunately holds back the password protection feature in the free version, which is not the way to go. You can compromise on functionality when you’re trying to monetize an app, but not on security.
A clean GUI
Menstrual Calendar has a neat, pink-themed UI so that it speaks to females. There’s no way to change the color set. Not sure if all women prefer pink and pink only. Regardless, Menstrual Calendar is designed with the user in mind, and offers swift navigation through the menus and the various subsections of each area.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
A neat GUI designed with a focus on easy navigation through the menus, input, tracking and viewing. Some users may prefer the ability to change the theme color. |
Function8
The free version is an almost-complete menstrual calendar solution. That said, you can always pluck some cash and get the full shebang. |
Security5
Low points for locking the password feature behind a paywall. You either offer a secure app, or you don’t offer one at all. |
Battery9
Very easy on the battery. |
Price7
Numerous features require an in-app purchase, but you can get a lot of functionality out of the free version as well. |
Compatibility8
Doesn’t have an iPad version, only requires iOS 5 to run. |
A good menstrual calendar solution, but one that requires IAP for security.
