Glow - Period calendar & tracker, ovulation calculator, fertility predictor 4.5.0
Mainly, the app is created to help women track their periods, but also to help those who are trying to conceive. The app puts together a bunch of data that you provide, including about your regular cycle length, height, weight, activity level and so on.
Pick your goal
Glow has three “journeys” prepared for users. The first will help women track their periods, the second will help those trying to conceive and the third will help those who are on fertility treatments.
The app’s interface is a bit cluttered, but you’ll find things that you actually need there. At the top of the page there’s a calendar where you can see what phase of your period you’re in and whether you’re closing in to the fertile window, which is useful whether you’re looking forward to it or trying to avoid it.
There are daily logs that you can fill in, where you can fill in your body temperature, mention whether you’ve had an ovulation test, how much you slept, if you exercised, what state your emotions were in throughout the day and so on.
Glow allows users to invite their partners to get additional support in the app, which is useful especially for women trying to conceive.
To make the app even more powerful, you can connect it with various other health apps you may have installed on your phone, including MyFitnessPal, Jawbone UP and Fitbit. There's also added integration with Apple Health and a health awareness indicator to help out those who need more information.
Glow also has some additional features. For instance, the Community holds various threads from members, discussing their problems, dreams, hopes and whatever else they feel like it. The Genius area will give you more insight into how your body works, whether it’s when your next period should start on, check out cycle and health charts or see the reminders you’ve set for yourself.
Crowdfund for a baby
Glow First is a program that allows members to crowdfund for babies, basically a non-profit program helping to make treatment affordable for members. Since infertility treatments are particularly expensive, Glow proposes that you contribute $50 per month for up to ten months. If you conceive in this time, the money you donated will be split to other couples trying to have a baby.
The app is a pretty great and offers a lot of useful information on top of being your little notebook where you jot down personal data. Its prediction system isn’t necessarily perfect, but that’s just because each woman is different.
