Whether you’re trying to get pregnant or, on the contrary, looking to avoid it, you should probably keep track on your menstrual cycles so you always know when the best times for intercourse are. While most women will remember having to keep a calendar in a notebook, smartphones have made it increasingly easy because you can have an app to do all the math for you.

Ovia Fertility is an app that seeks to help you in your goal, whichever that may be. The basis is the same – you provide information about your cycles and let the app do the math for you. Of course, not every woman is the same and you may not even have regular cycles, but this app promises to be there for you and help you figure things out, even if it will take a little bit of time before it does so.

Extensive calculations

That’s because on top of doing math based on your last period, it also takes into consideration a lot data regarding your medical state. The logs you should make every day take you through a long list of categories. For instance, you’ll need to specify whether you’re on your period or not, what’s your general mood, whether you’re feeling any type of symptoms, varying from headaches, to back pains, to cramps and so on.

You should also tell the app whether you had intercourse, your basal temperature, how well you fed yourself over the day and how active you were, to name a few. The list is quite extensive and it’s probably the most thorough data log we’ve seen. All this information will, of course, help the app better predict your ovulation days so you know to take advantage of them or to avoid them, in case you’re not trying to have a baby.

Get all the data you need

The app further provides you with a daily fertility score and a quick overview of your data. There are also charts you can check whenever you want. There are also a lot of articles you can read to help you along, especially if you’re facing fertility issues, since those could be of great help.

Ovia Fertility allows users to make some changes about the app from the Settings area, including to choose what units to display the temperature and weight in.
