GoKeep for Google Keep 1.6
While the service is available on the web, as a Chrome app, for Android and Android Wear, there’s no dedicated iOS app from the Internet giant, which is a big disadvantage for Apple fans. That doesn’t mean, however, that other developers haven’t come up with a solution for this issue.
Here comes GoKeep for Google Keep, an iOS app that tries to cover all that you need to handle the note-taking service from your device.
The app looks familiar if you’ve ever used Google Keep – the same mustard-yellow shade will welcome you upon launching. You can check out your old notes and create new ones like in the regular Google Keep tool – it’s possible to create regular notes or lists, set up reminders for them, choose a different background color, add pictures and so on. The lists are particularly great since you can just add a checkmark to the box once that particular item has been taken care of.
You may also delete or archive the notes that you’re no longer interested in, which is helpful in clearing out the clutter.
Bugs and glitches
Now, that being said, GoKeep for Google Keep does come with some really annoying bugs discovered during testing. For instance, when trying to tap the button for more under the note, the menu containing the options to “delete note” or “make a copy” wouldn’t load at all on iOS 8.1.2 on iPhone 6 Plus – the menu would just kind of flicker in and out of existence.
Furthermore, the app also crashed a couple of times for no apparent reason, which obviously isn’t ideal.
Confusing UI
The fact that there are two menus you can access – one from Google Keep and one from GoKeep is also a bit confusing. For instance, you’ll have to tap on the hamburger icon near “Notes” to get access to the Google Keep menu (Notes, Reminders, Archive, Trash and account info) and the “Plus” sign above for the GoKeep menu which includes access to reminders, sharing on Facebook and Twitter, more apps, the rating shortcut, settings and so on.
What is cool about the app is that you can, however, add a little bit more protection around the tool. For instance, you can set up a password or enable Touch ID to access it.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The app looks great, but that’s mostly because of the native Google Keep design rather than the actual app |
Function7
Set up notes, reminders, create lists, but watch out for the bugs |
Security9
You need to log in with your Google account to access Google Keep, but you can set up a password or Touch ID to protect your notes from onlookers |
Battery9
GoKeep for Google Keep is light on your battery life |
Price7
The app is free to download and use, but you’ll get full screen ads upon launching and banners at the bottom of the screen |
Compatibility9
It requires iOS 7.0 and up to function and there’s also an iPad app available |
It’s nice that you gain access to Google Keep, but the app is far from perfect
