Evernote Food 2.5

Evernote Food lets you save recipes and restaurants to your account
If you’re a foodie, then you’re likely quite fond of looking up recipes on the Internet and sticking them all in a folder somewhere for that next time you’ll feel like cooking. Or perhaps you love to go from restaurant to restaurant and try out the different dishes they serve, but you always seem to forget the names of those that you like best.

Evernote Food is a tool that lets you mix the two together and save everything in the same place – your Evernote account.

Straightforward

The app comes with a pretty simple interface that’s easy to navigate. There are four areas that you can check out – Explore Recipes, My Cookbook, Restaurants and My Meals.

The names are pretty self-explanatory. In the top folder you’ll find recipes from various sites, complete with a picture that should make you hungry, the recipe’s name and the name of the source. Once you tap on any of them, the app will open the website page and you can read all about the recipe, including ingredients, directions and so on. It all depends, of course, on how the website has it all arranged.

Tapping on the scissor button at the top will add the recipe to your Evernote account, complete with title and any notes you may want to jot down. You’ll find all these recipes in the My Cookbook section. There’s also a search feature there that you can tap on to go through your entire collection, which is mighty useful if you have a gazillion recipes saved.

Eat out a lot?

The Restaurants section lets you search for cool places nearby. By using your location, the app will provide you with a list of nearby restaurants, complete with a rating. Tapping on any of these will result in a card with more info about these, including a map, a phone number, web address and photos. You can save these locations to your list just like you did the recipes.

The last section lets you add the type of meal you’re having, add a place by searching the internet, the type of cuisine you’re having and some tags. You can add photos and check them out again later.

Overall, this is a nice app that will complement your Evernote account.
