CNET 4.1.2

Get all the tech news you need from Engadget's mobile app
If you often find yourself wondering what the next big thing in tech is, then you’re probably reading up on quite a few articles pertaining to this particular domain. It is also quite likely that you already have a few favorite sites lined up and that CNET has, at the very least, flown on your radar.

The well-known site has taken things a step further a while back, launching an app to help up those who want to keep up with the tech industry even when they’re on the go, by reading news on their phones.

Intuitive

The CNET app for iOS is pretty clean and intuitive, and actually has a great design. The articles are displayed as large cards that contain the headline, as well as the date it was published. They’re easy to spot and the background is the image attached to the article, which is usually representative in some way or another to the topic.

When reading an article, they won’t be stripped down to the bare minimum. In fact, all the images attached are still there, and so are any links. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find the customary ad banner and information about the author. There are several buttons at the top of the page – one gives you access to the comments section, while another enables you to share the article with the world via text message, email or social media.

Extras in the side menu

The side menu reveals there are several things you can do. On top of reading news articles, you can check out reviews for various products and services and view videos and photos they’ve made for an array of products. There are also some guides that you can check out, stored under the “How to” section.

The CNET app also has a section dedicated to top products, including cameras, desktops, laptops, phones, tablets, and TVs. It’s also possible to check out for various deals and promotions available via the site.

If you want to check out another CNET edition, then this is possible too. You can pick between Australia, the UK or the Spanish version.
