Knowing what’s going on in the world is obviously of importance, especially if you don’t want to be ignorant about the big topics and to have a better view about what’s going on in the world and how everything links together.

Breaking News is an app that seeks to keep you up to date with just about everything that you might be interested in. The app collects data from a number of sources, including Twitter and big news sites.

Clean

The interface is simple and should not be difficult to figure out by anyone. There are several tabs at the bottom of the screen, allowing you to check out other sections. The main one, however is the one where you get the latest information.

The news pieces are arranged in cards containing a brief description of what has happened, or, in the case of Twitter, the actual tweet. There are also several keywords of interest that apply to that particular news article and if you’ll tap the plus button on the side, you’ll add it to your list of alerts. As soon as you do this, the app will estimate just how many push alerts you could get in a day on this topic based on the popularity of the event.

If you have no interest in a particular topic, you can just tap the mute button on the right side. This will take out all updates from the feed. In order to immediately apply the chances, you have to refresh the page.

Another tab will help you get the latest important information from nearby your physical location. You can adjust the range and redefine “nearby” by tapping on a button at the top of the page. You can have the app deliver reports coming from 100 miles from you.

The “Whoa” section contains the hottest news and media, both photos and videos which you can check out.

Create watch lists

If there’s any particular topic that interests you, you may add it to the watch list. For each one you add, the app will send push notifications. It’s possible to share everything with friends over text message, email, as well as social media.

From the profile page you can decide when the app should send you these push notifications it keeps telling you about, such as only when major stories come up, or when they’re nearby.
