There's no online registration, so you wouldn't need to waste any time with setting up the app. Still, it doesn't come with any instructions or a tutorial to show users how to navigate inside the app, but the whole intuitive design doesn't really call for any tips.
Get alerts on all the latest developments
The app launches with all the top stories while the whole concept behind Breaking News resembles that of Twitter, with only headlines of the latest articles. You can add alerts for various topics, favorite posts or block them from your feed.
There's also the option to view the whole thread on a certain topic and share posts with friends on social networks. The app is also good at getting the latest news articles from locations near you and it displays all major topics on a world map, together with posts. Trending headlines are also in a separate section for you to check out.
Manage your feeds and use the home screen widget
The app makes it easy to manage topics that you're following and those that you have muted. You can also check out trending topics or search for matters that interest you the most. Push notifications may also be managed, but it seems that the app has some trouble with alerting users of new developments in event's they've been following.
Another issue inside the app relates to the home screen widget. It seems that the app has trouble with updating the widget with new posts and even if you slide up, it still fails to show you the latest news. Still, it would have been nice if the app provides users with some links for further information.
