Lost Android 2.65
One of those apps is Lost Android. It's a lightweight and very straightforward app that's filled with numerous tools for keeping your Android phone safe. In fact, out of all apps that we've reviewed, Lost Android has the most free tools that actually work.
Straightforward interface with all features at hand
When you first launch the app, you get the idea that developers clearly didn't focus on the app's design but it's features. The UI is very dated, with some options on the bottom of the page and some tips displayed on the home page.
There aren't many controls that you can make inside the app, but you must enable administrator rights and SMS control for it to work perfectly. It comes with a troubleshooter section that displays the activity log on your phone and one section that evaluates the security level.
In addition, the app automatically registers Google addresses to its server so that when you log in to www.androidlost.com, the whole process would take less. Moreover, the app's icon says 'Personal Notes' as to confuse intruders on your phone.
Send remote controls to your phone
All you need to do in case you've lost your phone or it was stolen, is to connect your Google account with your phone on www.androidlost.com. You'll get there an overview of the app and what the service can do, together with a short guide to get you started.
The app can be used for reading text messages from your phone, sounding remote alarms to locate your phone or to send SMS'es from your computer. In fact, it comes with multiple SMS commands, like for turning GPS on/off, enabling WiFi access, sounding alarms, snapping pictures, sending phone status, etc.
More features
The app can be used to locate your phone through GPS, it displays an approximate location of your device even if it's not connected to the internet. Also remotely, you can lock your phone, wipe all information stored on it, forward your calls and send popup messages on the phone.
You can also use it to hide messages, detect if the SIM card was changed or simply browse content on the phone from the webpage. Users can backup their browser, SMS index, contacts and photos to the app's server but all data is deleted within 24 hours.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The interface is quite dated, it could use an upgrade, but it has a clever way of going incognito on your phone. |
Function8
It's filled with all sort of nice tools that you could use in order to locate your phone, however some don't work on certain devices. |
Security8
It needs device administrator rights but the app shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery9
Consumption is negligible, the app surely won't drain your resources. |
Price9
It's filled with all sort of nice features, but not all are free. Pay 3.1$ to unlock premium ones. |
Compatibility8
The app should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.2 or later, although some more advanced features only work smoothly on the latest versions. |
It needs some improvements, but overall it's the most helpful.
