Digg 1.14

Read the most popular articles on the internet with Digg
In this day and age it has become crucial to stay informed on events as they unfold around the world. In order to do so, you don't necessarily need to search for interesting content, but rather have Digg bring it to you. It's a news aggregator, filled with editorials on the most talked-about events on the internet, including science, warfare, movies and sports.

Simplistic UI clearly promoting content

Considering the high number of news readers out there, you'd think that developers from Digg would put an extra effort in the interface of this app. On the contrary, they focused only on providing fresh and intelligently-written content, which is actually more fulfilling than a volatile interface.

You can sign in with your Google, Facebook or Twitter accounts in order to like articles or choose Pocket, Instapaper and Readability to add bookmarks and save articles for reading later.

Check out articles on various topics

The app launches with a selection of the top stories circulating around the web. There's a refresh icon on the top of the screen, right next to the search bar which brings up all sorts of stories on the desired topic.

Tap on an article and it will open with images and text. Tap in like if you want to show people that you appreciated the text or save the story for later. In addition, you can share articles and have your friends read them too.

Add feeds and get stories that interest you the most

The 'hamburger' icon comes with few sections. Only the one with top stories, the section with diggs or articles that you've liked and the one with saved stories. There's also the option of adding feeds to the home screen. Some articles come with stories, but it seems that Digg doesn't play them. There's also an icon that opens the article in browser-view directly within the app, so you can get additional information from there.
