Audiomack 1.3.2
Sleek interface with plenty of features at hand
The app launches with a tutorial showing new users all the neat features and tools that it has. It sports a collection hundreds of artists, bloggers, and music labels add thousands of new songs, albums, and mixtapes.
It's a really nice way to discover new songs and remixes, as many are added daily. However, new users need to create an account using their email addresses. You can't connect any of your social network profiles, but you may use the account to sign in on the website which has more features compared to the app.
Discover new songs and artists
The side menu offers you access to all sections of the app, but it doesn't come with a settings menu which means that it doesn't really follow the guidelines of Android apps.
A search bar helps users find songs faster by simply typing in the name of the artist or song. You can explore tracks by all genres, check out which songs are currently trending, the top songs inside the app, the top albums and recently added tracks.
Sort songs by date and check out the all time popular tracks. The app lets you explore hip-hop and electronic songs, more genres aren't really available. You can also follow artists and get information on their uploads directly in the feed.
Create playlists and download tracks to your phone
You can add some songs to a playlist or favorite them and listen directly inside the app. You can also download tracks to your phone, but not all of them are available for download.
The app also has a feature that lets you minimize the player and browse for new songs, while the track is still playing. One of the disadvantages of this app is that it doesn't have controls in the lock screen, but it does have in the notification bar you can play, pause and hit next or previous song.
Audiomack is filled with remixes and covers, that's why you won't really find original songs inside the app but rather variations. The songs that aren't available for download can be purchased from iTunes. The app is quite safe, only artists can decide if they allow songs to be downloaded inside the app.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The app makes it easy to navigate and find nice songs to listen to, but it doesn't have a menu with settings. |
Function7
It has controls in the notification bar but some songs simply don't play. It's quite limited as only two genres are available. |
Security6
It needs permission to sensitive areas of your phone, although they're not connected to its features. |
Battery5
It's best to keep your phone plugged in when using this app as it takes up more battery than similar players. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases whatsoever. |
Compatibility8
It should work on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It's a nice app for discovering new hip-hop songs and artists, but it could use some more features.
