8tracks playlist radio 3.3.150918355
8tracks playlist radio is a neat app, filled with playlists created by other users. It's extremely popular among people who loved listening to mixtapes.
Sleek but confusing UI
The app needs online registration, you can sign up or log in using your Facebook or Google+ accounts and you can edit your profile directly from within the app.
8Tracks sports a sleek interface but seems a bit confusing and freezes up at times. The menu is arranged on the left side of the screen, but navigation in the app raises some issues.
Although it comes with onscreen instructions and tips written in an appealing manner, it doesn't provide any information on the concept behind the app. You can set notifications or enable animated GIFs for playlists that come with this feature. In addition, you can post songs or playlists directly to your Facebook timeline.
Listen to various playlists
The app opens with staff suggested playlists, simply scroll through lists, read descriptions and check out tags to see if you'd like them. Each playlist comes with the number of plays and likes it collected from users, but there's no list of tracks, you can't skip more than a few songs at once and there's no fast-forward icon.
Playlists can be liked or shared with friends on other social networks. In addition, you can comment on songs or read more about singers. Favorite and like playlists so the app can provide you with suggestions. The app also displays artist info and lets you favorite tracks directly from the notification screen.
Explore playlists and artists
The explore section is neatly arranged with tags you can choose from. Tap on one and the app opens all suggested playlists, but be patient as it may take a while to load. There's also a listening history, in case you wish to replay certain mixes.
The favorite tracks section takes you out of the app, to YouTube or other similar applications. You can activate the sleep timer, control the app from home or lock screen, or connect it to your TV using Chromecast. Users can also create their own playlists, but only on the desktop version.
