T-Translator 7.1
T-Translator is one of the utilities that were created to serve this purpose and it provides a very good resource of knowledge insofar the words and expressions in other languages are concerned.
Smooth feel for a well designed GUI
The application comes with a neat interface, that is quite pleasant to look at and also a breeze to use, thanks to a well organized layout. All the commands are at hand, easy to access at all times and there is a nice animation when switching the languages.
Very responsive from the instant you start typing, the app displays possible suggestions as you write them down and browsing through the list of results has a very fast and fluent feel to it every time.
Impressive selection of languages and several methods of adding input
The main purpose of this application is to provide translations as quickly and as accurately as possible and T-Translator seems to be well prepared or this. There are around 80 languages waiting to be selected and the "auto-detect" feature can also be enabled with a couple of taps.
Sometimes, the automatic recognition is less accurate and fails to identify the correct input language, but, overall, it manages to work well most if the times. The support for voice input is more difficult than expected, as it failed to operate several times.
A neat feature of this utility is the ability to support handwriting so, when in the special "Write" mode, you can use the app as a classical pen and paper means of writing down words and phrases you want to add to the translation queue. The suggestions offered by T-Translator are most useful in making the correct selection.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The application has a neat interface, well polished and with a smooth look to it, while providing a seamless navigation among commands, menus and word lists. Very responsive to the user input, the app would only need a few customization options for the GUI. |
Function8
Ready to receive data from the virtual keyboard, voice and even capable of recognizing handwriting, T-Translator covers a lot of languages and brings multiple variants for each word. The only letdowns are the faulty voice recognition and the often cumbersome language recognition. |
Security9
The utility treats with discretion the sensitive information stored inside the system, as it will only require access to the phone identity. |
Battery8
The moderate power consumption that characterizes this app will make it possible for anyone to use T-Translator for hours on end, without worrying that the battery will deplete too soon. |
Price9
Despite some mishaps in functioning, the application carries out the job it is supposed to very well and it does so without asking for anything in return, a pretty good deal by all standards. |
Compatibility9
Any device that has a minimum screen resolution of 480x800 pixels and is powered by Windows Phone 7.5 or above will be sufficient to run T-Translator with all its features. |
