For those who want to have the whole sky in their palm, SkyMap Free for Windows Phone is one of the apps to install. It offers a rarely seen perspective of the stars and constellations, alongside some neat features that cannot be found in other apps.
Smooth and appealing front-end
The beautiful interface of this application provides an immersive view of the night sky, with animations and glittering stars wherever you look. The app supports both portrait and landscape screen orientations and the information is displayed in an easy to read transparent box.
The constellation art shown in the main screen looks impressive and adds a special touch to the night sky view, while the night mode gives a red color to the whole map for increased visibility. The only nuisance are the ads shown in the lower part of the screen.

Perhaps the most attractive feature of this utility is called "Point to sky" and it uses the handset's built-in compass, if available, to bring closer to you the stars that correspond to the direction you point your device towards.
