Space Explorer 1.0.0.0
For Windows Phone users who are eager to learn some facts and figures about some of the objects in the night sky a utility like Space Explorer could come in very handy.
Browse the planet and star info from a simple GUI
The application is certainly not going to catch the eye through exquisite graphics cool backgrounds as there are no such elements of graphical design inside.
The app keeps all the information it presents very well structured and moving around the various sections of the utility is smooth and lacking any delays of glitches of any sort.
The imagery included in the "Media" module is of very good quality, but there is a noticeable drawback in there as well, because the content appears only in landscape mode in that particular section.
Precise information at a glance
Inside the main screen of Space Explorer you will see a handful of buttons each linking to a different module from where you can get some useful info.
Unfortunately, the last one of them, "NASA", has no content, even if it is supposed to bring you the latest tweets from the official feed of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Leaving that one aside, you can go through the "Planets" and "Stars" sections to view some interesting facts related to the size, gravity or temperature of the celestial bodies. For the stars you have several parameters expressed in figures that use as means of comparison our Sun.
Terms explained and space imagery
In case you come across some notions you are less familiar with and want to see what they stand for, the "Space Dictionary" is where you have to look in, as all the elements presented inside the two previously mentioned modules are explained.
There is also a "Media" section inside Space Explorer and it offers some impressive images taken from space and you can view not only the planets in our Solar System, but also photos of numerous stars, galaxies and many more.
Unfortunately, the pictures cannot be enlarged or opened separately, not will you be able to share any of the content because the app doesn't have any dedicated functions for such purposes.
