NASA 7 1.2.0.0

Follow all the news from NASA and get some interesting info at your fingertips with a cool app
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is one of the sources of information and inspiration for a lot of people and it has a lot of followers that like to stay up to date with all the details concerning their space missions that they release to the public.

For those who want to remain in touch at all times with the news feeds and have the content at their disposal even while on the go, installing a tool like NASA 7 on their Windows Phone handsets might prove a smart move.

Convenient layout and nice interface

The application greets you with a quite pleasant GUI, where the nice backgrounds and well designed graphics work together to provide an enjoyable experience.

The content is well organized and structured inside several sections, so you can find anything you are interested in without fumbling around. The images are of very good quality all through the app, but there are some delays in loading the graphical and textual content.

A more perceptible nuisance comes from the advertisement banners that are constantly changing and flashing in the lower part of the screen.

Read the news and explore the info from various modules

NASA 7 has several section you can go through to check out the latest breaking news, ISS reports, educational info, Kepler mission updates and many more.

Unfortunately, when tapping on any article, the app fails to open it and returns an error, so reading the summary of the respective entry will have to do for the time being, until the issue is adressed and solved.

Picture of the day and media updates at a glance

One of the best areas of this utility you will surely want to visit is the APOD (Astronomy Pictures Of The Day) section, where you can check out some amazing snapshots from space offered by NASA. The images can be loaded separately and viewed up close, as the app supports zoom and pan touch gestures.

There is also plenty of media content you can view by accessing the NASACast, NASA Edge, NASA Mission Update and several other modules built-in this app. The videos load pretty fast and are of very good quality, while the playback controls allow you to move inside the streaming clips with ease.

However, there are some drawbacks in the "Media" section as well, as several channels listed there offer no written or multimedia content for some reason.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8

The decent looks and very nice imagery offered by this app are a bit spoiled by the annoying adverts.

Function6

The utility brings a lot of information, with cool video podcasts, but has some major functional flaws that need to be corrected.

Security8

NASA 7 needs to look inside some system areas like the owner identity or the phone dialer that are not related to its functionality.

Battery5

The high resource consumption of the application makes the battery lose a lot of power at a relatively fast pace.

Price9

Everything about this app is completely free to access and use, but there are some advertisements inside as well.

Compatibility10

Pretty much any Windows Phone user will be able to try out this tool as long as the device it is installed runs version 7.5 or higher of the OS.
