The Independent 6.3.2
The Independent, as you may know, is a British national newspaper that was launched relatively recent (back in the 80s’) and that’s not officially affiliated with any political party, which means you’re more likely to get uninfluenced reports.
Indy goes mobile
As many other publications, the Indy has also gone mobile, trying to serve those interested in reading news on the go, not just in front of the computer screen or the printed version.
The newspaper’s mobile app is intuitive and easy to navigate by all users, no matter how new to working with app they are. What’s more, there’s a tutorial at the start of the app, showing new users about all the sections of the newspaper and how to get things done.
That being said, as you launch the tool, you’ll get access to the newspaper’s front page. You can scroll up and down between articles and see if there’s anything you want to read in there. The side menu contains the entire list of sections, such as sports, football, money, business, tech and travel, to name just a few.
That’s also the way to access the printed version of the app, although you’ll need a subscription to actually download content from there. This includes the various supplements the Indy comes with, such as the Traveller, Radar or The New Review.
The app also comes with some additional content, such as weather reports from the BBC and Puzzles, which includes crosswords and Sudoku.
Adjust the text
When reading any of the articles, you can increase and decrease the font to make it easier on your eyes, leave a comment or share the news with others, which can be done via Facebook, Twitter or email. You’ll notice there are banner ads at the bottom of the articles, but they shouldn’t bother you too much.
All in all, this is a nice app to have around, especially if you’re a fan of the The Independent. The tool is easy to navigate and you should have no issues figuring out everything you need to do to get the latest articles.
