Sorted Food 1.12

Sorted Food mixes the regular cooking recipe with social networking
Knowing what to cook next is often difficult, especially when you don’t crave for something in particular. Then, you’re either left trying to figure out what recipe you can put together with what’s left in your fridge and pantry or scouring the Internet for something that will appeal to your taste buds, your wallet and your kitchen skills.

Sorted Food is an app that mixes in the regular food app with social networking. Basically, on top of the recipes that come with the app, you’ll find a lot of cool ones from users of the app. You can follow the cooks that have posted recipes you love, check out their uploads and so on. There are even a few chefs in there, so you can find quite a few cool ideas to try out the next time you’re adamant about cooking.

Easy to find recipes

The app has a simple and colorful interface that attracts you immediately. You’ll need to sign up or sign in as soon as you launch the app, but the entire process is pretty simple. Then, the app will suggest that you automatically follow a series of individuals so that your feed can be populated with the latest recipes.

Each one is displayed in a type of card, complete with the name of the cook, their location and a photo of the result. Some of the entries will just have the photo (which you’ll see marked with a camera icon), while others will also include the actual recipe. You’ll be able to check out the ingredients, the step-by-step method and tagged recipes, if the user who posted it has bothered to add any.

Recipes can be added to the favorites list with just a tap of a button. Any recipe can be shared via Facebook, Twitter or email.

Multiple menus

The app’s side menu allows users access to more locations. First up is the feed of those accounts that you follow, while the second allows you to explore the app for more recipes. Then, you can go through the process of adding a recipe yourself, complete with how long it takes to cook it, how expensive it is, dish category, ingredients, steps and photo library.

Overall, this is a really nice app and you’ll certainly find something worthwhile cooking in the feed. Even if you’re just browsing and saving recipes for later, you’ll be able to have some fun with it.
